A great monster has been awoken in the world of "Simplicity". Angry at being disturbed, it begins attacking human cities. You're not here to stop the monster, however, because you ARE the monster.
You play as the Godzilla-esque monster in a fictional cartoon city. From your first person perspective, your aim is to destroy the city by hitting, grabbing, and throwing. As you power up (through destroying things) you unlock powerful skills to help you be even more destructive. You will face a variety of enemies in your pursuit of vengeance, such as soldiers, tanks, helicopters, and more. If you are devastating enough, you will even get to face off against the human's high tech boss. The graphics are effective but simple; nothing spectacular. There are a few game modes to experiment with, such as party modes, and Free-Style mode where there are no objectives and you can just run rampant through the city. There's not much variation to the building destruction, which in and of itself isn't too big an issue, but when you're destroying building after building, it can become a little bland.
Fun For a Little While
VR Monster Awakens is enjoyable, but the novelty can wear off quite quickly. Perhaps with more content and some variation in the graphical elements, the game could be more compelling.
